Job Description

The role will act as a trusted advisor to airport operators, aviation authorities, and infrastructure organisations, providing expertise in asset management systems, asset lifecycle planning, maintenance optimisation, asset performance management, and infrastructure governance. The successful candidate will lead the delivery of advisory workstreams and projects, supporting clients in improving asset performance, operational resilience, and long-term infrastructure value.

Working closely with the VP Technical Projects and wider advisory team, the role will contribute to the development of strategic recommendations, asset management frameworks, engineering operating models, and organisational improvement initiatives. The role will also support the preparation of technical proposals, client presentations, and business development activities that strengthen daa International’s position as a leading aviation advisory consultancy.

The position requires a commercially aware and client-focused professional who can operate independently while collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary project teams. The role will involve regular international travel and engagement with senior client stakeholders across a range of global aviation markets.

Asset Management Advisory Delivery

  • Lead the delivery of asset management advisory assignments for airport and aviation clients, ensuring projects are delivered to agreed scope, quality, programme, and budget requirements.
  • Develop asset management strategies, policies, frameworks, and roadmaps aligned with industry best practice and client objectives.
  • Support clients in the implementation and continual improvement of asset management systems, including alignment with ISO 55001 principles and requirements.
  • Conduct asset management maturity assessments, gap analyses, asset health reviews, and organisational capability assessments.
  • Develop recommendations to improve asset performance, reliability, lifecycle value, risk management, and infrastructure governance.

Infrastructure Lifecycle & Maintenance Advisory

  • Advise clients on infrastructure lifecycle planning, capital investment prioritisation, maintenance strategies, and asset renewal programmes.
  • Support the development of asset criticality frameworks, asset investment plans, and long-term infrastructure strategies.
  • Review maintenance practices, engineering governance arrangements, and organisational structures to identify opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Analyse asset performance data and develop actionable recommendations to improve efficiency, reliability, and service outcomes.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor throughout project delivery.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and stakeholder engagement sessions to gather information and build consensus around recommendations.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and strategic improvement initiatives to client management teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Support clients in translating strategic recommendations into practical implementation plans.

Project & Workstream Leadership

  • Lead defined project workstreams, coordinating inputs from internal subject matter experts and project team members.
  • Manage project deliverables, schedules, risks, and reporting requirements to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Support quality assurance processes to ensure technical accuracy, consistency, and professionalism across all client deliverables.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of advisory methodologies, tools, templates, and intellectual property.

Business Development & Continuous Improvement

  • Support the preparation of technical proposals, bids, and client presentations for new advisory opportunities
  • Contribute subject matter expertise to business development initiatives and client engagement activities.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging best practices in airport asset management, infrastructure planning, and engineering management.

Experience

  • Significant experience in asset management, infrastructure management, engineering consultancy, or advisory roles within airport, aviation, or major infrastructure environments.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering asset management projects, advisory assignments, or organisational improvement programmes.
  • Experience in asset lifecycle planning, maintenance management, asset performance optimisation, and infrastructure governance.
  • Experience applying asset management principles and frameworks, including ISO 55001 and industry best practices.
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and managing client relationships within consulting or project-based environments.
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary teams and managing multiple concurrent assignments.
  • International project delivery experience would be advantageous.

Education & Qualifications

  • Honours Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Professional membership of a recognised engineering body (e.g., Engineers Ireland, Institution of Engineers, or equivalent) highly desirable.
  • Additional qualifications in asset management, infrastructure management, or aviation systems would be advantageous.
