of This Role

As a Senior Manager at Global Payments, you will take ownership for the delivery of business critical products. We are looking for someone to manage a delivery team that can lead innovation, drive improvements, set technical direction, and consistently meet the needs of the business. Advises and confers with team members on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities, and methods. Consults with team members in other areas to coordinate cross-functional activities. Oversees the effective development and implementation of programs to ensure that all software applications meet minimum organization standards and end-user requirements.

• Manage technical talent acquisition, growth and retention.
• Work with product and key stakeholders to set desired product roadmaps.
• Drive critical improvements to stay ahead of the growing business needs.
• Evaluate new technologies and delivery practices.
• Drive accurate and efficient project estimates.
• Create project plans, identify dependencies and risks, and allocate resources.
• Develop capacity plans and skills assessments.
• Stay up to date on the latest security threats and secure application design and coding practices.
• Manage third party consultants.
• Lead the design, craftsmanship, availability, resilience, security and scalability of your solutions.
• Foster a culture to stay on top of technology trends and participate in technology communities.
• Encourage innovation, inclusion, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity.
• Lead and mentor a team of development, quality assurance, and support engineers.
• Simultaneously drive multiple large initiatives potentially across multiple scrum teams.
• Prepare and present technical presentations and project status.
• Provide required information for the annual budget.

What Are We Looking For in This Role?

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Relevant Experience or Degree in: related field of study from an accredited university is required; however, relevant experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
• Typically a minimum of 8 years or more experience in software development management
• 13 years or more experience in Java software development
• Expert level proficiency in agile practices and project management
• Real-time processing and high-volume service development experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience in software development management
• Experience developing and managing cloud solutions
• Payments industry experience
