The Royal Caribbean Group’s AI & Analytics Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior Manager, AI Engineering reporting to the Director, AI Engineering.

The position is onsite and based in Miami, Florida.

The position is also not eligible for work authorization sponsorship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leads the end-to-end design, engineering, and production operation of Generative AI and Agentic solutions - assistants, copilots, custom applications, and autonomous/human-in-the-loop agents -across various business domains like Guest Experience, Policy & Knowledge, HR/Talent, and back-office functions.
• Architects retrieval-grounded (RAG) systems and the enterprise context layer, knowledge bases, vector search, memory, and secure connectors (MCP) - so AI reasons over governed enterprise data, not just the base model
• Guides the evaluation, selection, and operationalization of emerging AI capabilities, models, and platforms, balancing value against autonomy-driven risk and cost.
• Develops and executes strategies for integrating AI/GenAI technologies (LLMs, RAG pipelines, agents, and model-serving patterns) into new and existing products, ensuring global scalability and compliance.
• Directs large, complex, cross-functional programs, translating business requirements into scalable, secure, enterprise-grade AI systems with clear, measurable outcomes (productivity gained, revenue protected, cost avoided).
• Builds and champions reusable frameworks, patterns, and shared services that accelerate delivery and allow high-value point solutions to graduate into enterprise-grade assets.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize the engineering backlog, and align AI solutions with organizational goals.
• Guides the evaluation, adoption, and operationalization of emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and platforms (e.g., Azure AI Foundry, Databricks, AWS Bedrock, Anthropic).
• Embeds Responsible AI and governance by design - evaluation suites, human-in-the-loop controls, agent/MCP guardrails, and InfoSec/Legal/Compliance sign-off - partnering with the GenAI CoE governance forums.
• Oversees technical troubleshooting and root-cause resolution of complex, multi-component failures in AI systems.
• Ensures rigorous application testing, including unit, integration, functional, resilience, and performance testing for all AI solutions.
• Publishes and promotes reusable frameworks, libraries, and services to accelerate AI solution delivery and drive engineering standardization.
• Manages, mentors, and grows a team of AI engineers, setting technical direction and fostering a culture of innovation, engineering excellence, and continuous learning.

Qualifications and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 10–12 years of experience in software or data/AI engineering, including 4+ years building and deploying AI/ML solutions in production and hands-on experience delivering GenAI/agentic applications (LLMs, RAG, agents) at enterprise scale.
• Proven expertise in full-stack development and Azure cloud services.
• Deep understanding of GenAI architectures, including LLMs, RAG pipelines, embeddings, vector databases, and agentic frameworks.
• Experience with enterprise software architecture, cloud platforms, and AI frameworks.
• Experience with enterprise identity management and secure coding practices.
• Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to present solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven track record managing large-scale, cross-functional technology projects and teams.
