Job Description


Our Client is looking for a Senior Manager, Africa, Growth to join their team and help grow Africa's leading online music service focused on the mass market. The mission is to provide music lovers with easy and legal access to a vast library of African songs, while also empowering African artists to reach a wider audience. They have millions of monthly users across Africa (with Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya, and South Africa being main markets)


Job Objectives:


Main responsibility is to manage the client growth functions with three key Job Objectives:


  • Drive customer acquisition with the aim of ensuring a customer lifetime value of at least four times higher than the customer acquisition cost.

  • Own the media budget with the aim of getting the highest possible return on investment in key growth metrics including revenue and customers.

  • Accurately forecast future performance in key growth metrics based on planned growth initiatives.


Key responsibilities include:


  1. Media Buying: Own the media budget and establish media partnerships with the aim of acquiring profitable users and subscribers by ensuring that the customer acquisition cost is 4x lower than the customer lifetime value.

  2. Media Partnerships and Joint Business Planning: Establish, manage, and grow long-term partnerships with media companies with the objective of growing the company’s media presence, awareness, and customer acquisition at the best possible return on investment together with the commercial teams.

  3. Analyze, optimize, and forecast performance: Analyze customer data, cohorts, and product performance to drive product and media decisions and accurately forecast future revenue and customer performance together with the product team.

  4. Campaign and Conversion Management: Manage and set up tracking and optimize online and offline campaigns to drive performance in conversion, engagement, and customer value together with the marketing and partnerships team.

  5. New initiatives and projects: Test new initiatives and new channels with the purpose of driving key growth metrics.


Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with 3+ years of online media buying experience, preferably in a leadership role


  • Demonstrating expertise in driving customer acquisition, optimizing media budgets, and forecasting future performance.


  • Strong understanding of online media buying strategies including campaign optimization and negotiating partnerships with media companies to acquire profitable users and subscribers.


  • Proficiency in analyzing customer data, cohorts, and product performance metrics is crucial to drive strategic decisions and accurately forecast future revenue and customer performance.


  • Experience in establishing and managing long-term partnerships with media companies with strong negotiation to ensure optimal return on investment.


  • Expertise in setting up and optimizing online and offline campaigns to drive conversion, engagement, and customer value is required. Candidates should be familiar with various marketing channels and tools for campaign tracking and optimization.


  • The ability to test new initiatives and channels to drive key growth metrics is essential.


  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary for collaborating with cross-functional teams including marketing, partnerships, and product teams.


  • Proficiency in relevant analytical and marketing tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager, and CRM platforms is preferred. Candidates should also have a good understanding of digital marketing principles and technologies.


  • Candidates should be highly results-driven and motivated to achieve and exceed growth targets. They should be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate resilience in overcoming challenges.


  • Alignment with the company's values and passion for African music and culture is desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a genuine interest in the company's mission and vision.
