ADMINISTRATION AND ACCOUNTING SECTION

Senior Manager (Administration and Accounting) (25260299)

As the Section Head of the Administration and Accounting Section of the Estates Office, the Senior Manager will lead a team of administrative and accounting staff to:

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operation of the Estates Office at administrative level including:
    • Providing administrative management and support for the Estates Office;
    • Exploring initiatives and manage the development of smart systems to revamp the Estates Office’s administrative protocols in order to enhance efficiency and workflows;
    • Assisting in the review, formulation and implementation of works related, and carry out regular internal audits to ensure compliance with the policies and procedures of the University;
    • Managing the enquiry service for the University community and external parties;
    • Coordinating tasks associated with campus planning/development and facilities management, including organising consultation or workshops, etc. with both the University community and external stakeholders;
    • Providing secretarial service for committee and office meetings;
  • Prepare budget and monitor expenditures managed by the Estates Office, including:
    • Preparing, monitoring and reporting of budgets/expenditures managed by the Estates Office;
    • Managing and overseeing the staff and departmental costs;
    • Working closely with the project team and the Finance Office in the compilation and administration of the Lists of Consultants and the Lists of Tenderers of Works;
  • Take charge of recruitment/staffing matters, and resources management, including:
    • Manage and compile the Annual Performance Review exercise within the Estates Office and bridge with the Human Resources Office in all personnel and recruitment matters;
  • Keep and update the University’s space inventory regularly; and
  • Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A recognised bachelor’s degree in accounting, quantity surveying or a related discipline;
  • A qualified accountant and HKICPA member/finalist; or a full member of The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors or the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Quantity Surveying discipline preferred;
  • At least 10 years of work experience in administrative management. Management of systems development or digital transformation, working in the construction field or familiarisation with Excel VBA will be advantages for consideration;
  • Excellent communication and language skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • Eagerness to learn and develop, and receptiveness to innovative technologies; and
  • Strong team player with can-do attitude, result-oriented mindset and positive energy.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Shortlisted candidates are required to sit for a written test.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
