Core Responsibilities

The new Competency Leader (CL) assumes people leadership responsibilities for local team members of the Delivery & Onsite Technology organization, including coaching, driving personal development, and staffing.

The CL sets goals and objectives for team members for the achievement of their own development plans. Driving impact through own functional expertise and passion for the proficiency area. Enables the employees to grow through self-discovery and mentoring. Leads professional capabilities in the proficiency area by defining and mastering professional standards and work methodologies and training proficiency resources.

This is a dual role containing leadership and active team membership, the ideal candidate is a digital professional with experience in leading people. But also, willingness to invest some of their time in participating in the team’s daily operations.

This role requires broad IT Infrastructure knowledge with sufficient knowledge to spare and challenge team on solutions and problems. Strong influence on technology, architecture and engineering/functional practices as well as supporting own team.

  • Proven stakeholders & project management experience, building bridges between local stakeholders and the digital organization including service product owners in own organization.
  • A cultural role model and enabler of others and in shaping the LEGO® culture within the team and own organization and proactively works towards collaborative culture.
  • Proactively works with peers to ensure we have global alignment, knowledge sharing and that we succeed as one global team.
  • Drives all people related processes, capacity planning, recruitment and onboarding, continuous development and well-being dialogues with employees in own area.

For projects in your location or region you will also work as an extension to our Technical Program Management team, to help drive/deliver local/regional projects.

Deliver IT services where physical presence is required on behalf of product teams, primarily within the IT Infrastructure area (Client, Network, Video Conference etc.)

Installation, deployment and daily operation of IT Infrastructure solution for new location, relocations and life cycling of hardware devices.

Offering partnership to Digital Product Teams.

Do you have what it takes?

The preferred candidate for this opportunity has strong leadership capabilities including coaching, feedback, employee development, talent growth and building high-performance team. Experience with staffing, competency planning, onboarding, recruitment processes, and team capability development.

Strong Stakeholder, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build trust across different organizational levels. Strong understanding of agile methodologies and modern digital delivery practices. Ability to balance operational priorities with long-term people and competency development.

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate already has experience in the following:

  • Some years working in a digital organization with leadership.
  • Strong technical and project management experience.
  • Self-steering, proactive, organized and can determine independently what needs to be done.
  • Relevant education within software engineering, computer science, IT, or a similar technical field is considered an advantage.
  • Positive mindset with a natural need to see solutions instead of problems and challenges status quo when needed – also when it includes taking the tough dialogues.

Compensation

The salary for this position has a range of 134.750,00 $ - 202.126,00 $ based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints. The LEGO Group carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to prior experience, skills, expertise, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details, inclusive of benefits, will be communicated upon finalisation of the employment offer.
