Job Description

The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for leading all manufacturing operations for Optical Solutions in Vietnam. This role is responsible for driving operational performance across production, engineering, quality, delivery, cost, and continuous improvement in a high-tech manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in scaling operations, developing manufacturing capability, and building high-performing teams to support business growth and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Operations Leadership

  • Lead overall manufacturing operations to achieve targets in safety, quality, productivity, yield, delivery, and cost efficiency.
  • Manage production, process engineering, manufacturing support, and operational execution across multiple teams.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes are standardized, optimized, and consistently followed.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve yield, operational efficiency, and manufacturing capability.
  • Lead problem-solving activities for complex operational and technical issues.
  • Optimize capacity planning, resource utilization, and manufacturing cost performance.

Strategic Planning & Business Support

  • Develop and execute operational plans, budgets, and long-term manufacturing strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Support business expansion, new technology implementation, and process capability development.
  • Monitor operational risks and implement corrective actions when required.

New Product Introduction & Process Transfer

  • Lead new product introduction (NPI), process transfer, and manufacturing ramp-up activities.
  • Collaborate with global engineering and business teams to ensure successful product launches and process integration.

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop managers, supervisors, and engineering teams to build a high-performance organization.
  • Drive employee engagement, accountability, talent development, and succession planning.
  • Promote a strong culture of teamwork, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Supply Chain, Quality, HR, Finance, and global teams to ensure smooth operational execution.
  • Support customer visits, audits, and strategic business initiatives.

Job Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Optical Engineering, Materials, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.

Experience

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in high-tech manufacturing environments.
  • At least 7 years of leadership experience in manufacturing or operations management.
  • Strong experience in operational excellence, process improvement, and manufacturing management.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and people management capability.
  • Proven experience in yield improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and manufacturing scale-up activities.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing KPIs, supply chain, and financial operations.
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Vietnamese.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing.
