Job Description

Harbor is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to join the Toledo team! This position is responsible for supporting general maintenance and facility upkeep in support of safe, efficient operations across Harbor sites.

Position is full-time, 40 hours per week.

REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance, facilities, building operations, construction, or related technical experience.
  • Experience performing minor plumbing repairs, including replacing faucets, toilets, sinks, shut-off valves, and clearing drains.
  • Experience performing minor electrical work, including replacing switches, outlets, light fixtures, ballasts, and LED lighting components.
  • Experience conducting routine HVAC preventative maintenance such as filter replacement, belt inspection, and basic system troubleshooting
  • Ability to utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Experience painting, patching, and completing general carpentry repairs.
  • Must be able to move and carry heavy objects including furniture and equipment. Must be dependable, punctual and able to follow directions as assigned.
  • Must remain up to date on annual Defensive Driving for 15-Passenger Vans training requirement.

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and show proof of personal auto insurance policy to be deemed insurable with Harbor’s vehicle insurance carrier.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Facilities Maintenance, Building Systems Technology, HVAC, Electrical Technology, Construction Management, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
  • Technical certifications in one or more skilled trades, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or general building maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions and Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain facility grounds and exterior areas to ensure safety, appearance, and operational readiness.
  2. Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance inspections of building systems and equipment and facilities.
  3. Identify potential facility issues before failures occur and recommend corrective actions.
  4. Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inspection documentation.
  5. Assists in preparing areas for improvements such as carpet removal and minor demolition.
  6. Perform minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance repairs.
  7. Complete office, furniture, and equipment relocations and installations.
  8. Perform seasonal snow and ice removal to maintain safe facility access when required.
  9. Transport materials, equipment, and agency vehicles as required to support maintenance operations.
  10. Prepare and restore work areas associated with renovations, repairs, and facility improvement projects.
  11. Perform interior and exterior painting, patching, and finishing work.
  12. Assist with facility inspections and identify maintenance issues requiring corrective action.
  13. Respond to routine maintenance requests and support facility operations across all Harbor locations.
