Senior Maintenance Technician

The Senior Maintenance Technician assists the leadership Corporate Facilities Life Safety Group (Supervisor, Manager, Director) with daily operations, coordination of work, quality and service, achievement of goals and objectives, customer satisfaction, and in meeting regulatory requirements including, including internal construction projects.

  • Experienced with safety and regulatory compliance of healthcare facilities by inspecting, maintaining, and repairing life safety systems such as fire alarms, emergency lighting, and fire suppression equipment.
  • The position serves as the lead Safety Inspection Technician who is experienced in all aspects of Life Safety and is a resource for all technicians in Life Safety
  • Must be able to work on site for various locations across Corporate Facilities

The Senior Maintenance Technician is experienced in all phases of general maintenance of facilities and serves as a resource for other team members. They also perform general maintenance as directed and as necessary on all aspects of building structures and systems to include floors, walls, ceilings, lighting, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other items.

Operates hand tools and power tools safely and according to manufacturers instructions; uses protective measures to minimize safety risks to self and others while performing job duties; maintains parts, supplies, and equipment; inspects, repairs, or replaces electrical components; monitors fire, sprinkler, and perimeter security alarm systems for abnormal conditions and responds appropriately; issues reports to supervisors via written/electronic means; directs the accomplishment of various contracted services; interfaces with building tenants on a range of issues daily.

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Associate level degree preferred but not required

Certification/Licensure

  • Certification for Life Safety will be required within one year of hire
  • Valid Driver's license (States of Virginia or North Carolina)

Experience

  • Previous maintenance experience required, Life Safety experience
  • Experienced with safety and regulatory compliance of healthcare facilities by inspecting, maintaining, and repairing life safety systems such as fire alarms, emergency lighting, and fire suppression equipment.
