Description:
Supervises and coordinates a safe work environment. Ensures quality is at the highest standard in the work being performed at the Asarco Operation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
·Provide safety leadership and responsibility in the Mill Maintenance Department.
·Understand and enforce all applicable local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
·Help ensure environmental compliance in the Mill Maintenance Department.
·Help prioritize and optimize maintenance and repair work for the Mill and facilities.
·Plan and control daily maintenance and repair work to insure effective utilization of resources.
·Order parts, material, and equipment to ensure continuous operation.
·Meets with supervisors to prioritize jobs.
·Creates safety meeting and assigns job assignments to employees.
·Inspects any area specific equipment malfunctions.
·Oversees the operation of maintenance projects throughout designated work areas.
·Works with Planners to complete work orders and requisitions.
·Prepares and plans for down days by ensuring all equipment, parts and proper tooling are staged for workers.
·Responds to issues and concerns that are raised by maintenance personnel.
·Assist in providing operating costs for the Mill Maintenance Department.
·Develop and implement an effective Preventative Maintenance Program.
·Responsible for providing quality work, which includes internal and external customer satisfaction, quality processes/procedures, quality equipment/tools and quality people and adhering to all safety standards.
·Develop/train/educate employees for future growth and promotion.
·Work in partnership with the Mill Operations Department, the Mine, the Laboratory, and all other departments to optimize safety, environmental compliance, production, costs, and quality.
·Work in partnership with the Union to insure effective and efficient plant operation.
·Effectively administer Department and Company policies and procedures.
·Help develop and implement capital and operating projects to improve the Mill Maintenance Department performance.
·Fill in for the General Supervisor in his absence.
·Responsible for executing, supporting, and enforcing the Company's Environmental, Health and Safety program as required by OIS policy, directives, and principles.
