Job Summary

The Senior Developer specializing in Mainframe Cobol, DB2, VSAM, JCL, Mainframe CICS will be responsible for the development and maintenance of applications on mainframe systems. The role involves working with various mainframe technologies to ensure efficient and effective software solutions for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop, test, and implement mainframe applications using cobol, db2, vsam, jcl, and cics.
2. Collaborate within teams to analyze user requirements and design appropriate technical solutions.
3. Troubleshoot and debug issues in existing mainframe applications to ensure optimal performance.
4. Participate in code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices in mainframe development.
5. Work on migration projects to modernize legacy mainframe systems and enhance system capabilities.
6. Ensure compliance with security and data protection regulations in all mainframe development activities.

Skill Requirements

1. Solid understanding of mainframe cobol programming language.
2. Solid understanding of db2 database management system.
3. Experience with vsam (virtual storage access method) for data organization.
4. Proficiency in writing and debugging jcl (job control language) scripts.
5. Knowledge of mainframe cics (customer information control system) for transaction processing.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
7. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
8. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
