Sr. Machinist
At Boom Supersonic, we're building Superpower — a 42-megawatt industrial gas turbine that requires some of the most demanding precision machining work in the industry. Our first Superpower prototype is being assembled now and scheduled for first fire this year. The production facility you will work in is being built in parallel — so that when the prototype proves out, we're ready to build the first production units without losing a day.
The Sr. Machinist is the person we give the hard jobs to. You'll own the setups that require judgment beyond the spec, work in materials that punish every process mistake, and troubleshoot the problems that don't have obvious causes. When the CNC Applications Engineer is developing a new process, you're the machinist they want running it.
You'll also influence the machinists around you — not by telling them what to do, but by showing them what excellent work looks like and being the person they come to when they're stuck.

What you'll own:
If you've mastered the craft and want to apply it somewhere the parts actually matter — this is the role.
