We are looking for a senior MLE who takes pride in writing clean, robust, production-grade Python — not just making models work, but making them last.

This is not a research role. This is about turning ML into reliable systems in a high-stakes environment. (We work with Python, cloud platforms (e.g. AWS), and large-scale data processing / distributed systems).

The position is full time, permanent and located in Stockholm (hybrid).

About our team

Meet the Predictive AI team. Our role is to build machine learning models to fight financial crime. Our team consists of around 10 data scientists and machine learning engineers, and belong to the group financial crime prevention (GFCP) unit.

What you’ll be doing

Main responsibilities in this role:

  • Own production ML systems end-to-end — from prototype to stable, scalable deployment
  • Write high-quality Python code that others can understand, extend, and trust
  • Design robust abstractions for data pipelines, model execution, and integration
  • Build reproducible, testable, observable ML systems (MLOps)
  • Ensure models behave correctly in production 

Who you are 

This is the right role for you if you love writing robust and scalable code, and are passionate about best practices for operationalizing machine learning models.

Your background and skills include:

  • You are very strong in Python — comfortable designing systems (abstractions, testing, maintainable architecture)
  • You think like a software engineer (SWE), not just a data scientist
  • You’ve operated ML systems in production and understand failure modes
  • You care about code quality, clarity, and long-term maintainability
  • You’re comfortable working in high-stakes or regulated environments

It would be ideal if you also:

  • Experience with monitoring (model performance, data drift, infra)
  • Experience with large-scale or distributed systems (e.g. Spark, cloud)
  • Experience where mistakes had real consequences
