
The Senior Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the transportation, warehousing, and distribution of raw materials and finished steel products. This role ensures efficient logistics operations, cost control, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards while maintaining seamless coordination between production, suppliers, and customers.
Supervise daily inbound and outbound transportation of raw materials, scrap, and finished steel products.
Manage third-party logistics providers, fleet operations, and ensure timely deliveries with minimal disruptions.
Ensure proper storage, handling, and tracking of materials within warehouses and yards to minimize losses.
Develop and implement strategies to improve logistics efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize transportation routes.
Ensure adherence to local and international logistics regulations, customs requirements, and workplace safety protocols.
Monitor transportation and warehousing expenses, negotiating contracts with vendors to optimize costs.
Track KPIs such as on-time delivery, logistics costs, and inventory accuracy, preparing reports for management.
Work closely with production planners and sales teams to align logistics with business needs and customer requirements.
Maintain strong relationships with transporters, shipping agents, and other logistics partners to ensure reliable service.
Implement technology-driven solutions such as ERP, GPS tracking, and automation tools to enhance logistics performance.
Understanding of raw material handling, bulk transportation, and finished product distribution in steel manufacturing.
Knowledge of inventory control techniques, warehouse operations, and just-in-time (JIT) logistics strategies.
Familiarity with transport laws, customs procedures, and hazardous material handling regulations.
Ability to manage logistics budgets, negotiate freight rates, and optimize operational expenses.
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
Minimum 5 years working experience, 3 years relevant working experience, 2 years GCC experience is a plus.
