About BYD Auto Hungary

On 22 December 2023, BYD announced the construction of a new energy vehicle production base in Szeged, Hungary, which will be built in phases. The new production base is planned to adopt globally advanced process equipment and highly automated production processes to create a world-leading new energy vehicle manufacturing base.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and manage the company's in-house container trucking fleet, including fleet structure, SOPs, and operating standards.

• Recruit, lead, and develop professional truck drivers, ensuring compliance with European driving and working-time regulations and company safety standards.

• Manage cross-border container transportation between the Port of Koper and other nearby ports and the manufacturing plant in Szeged, Hungary.

• Coordinate local drayage operations between rail terminals and the manufacturing plant.

• Optimize fleet utilization, routing, and asset productivity to improve service performance and reduce transportation costs.

• Oversee vehicle procurement or leasing, maintenance, inspections, and roadside support to maximize fleet availability.

• Ensure compliance with European transport regulations, customs requirements, toll systems, and ADR regulations, where applicable.

• Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement, KPI management, and effective cost control.
  

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in container fleet or road transportation operations, including cross-border logistics within Central and Eastern Europe.

• Proven experience in establishing or scaling an in-house trucking fleet is highly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of the Port of Koper, customs procedures, and regional transportation regulations.

• Fluent in English and Hungarian; Slovenian or Mandarin Chinese is an advantage.

• Proficiency in TMS, GPS tracking, and fleet management systems. CPC certification is preferred.

• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
