Huawei Ireland Research Centre's (IRC) mission is to position Huawei as a recognized technology leader and global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider. We are building an industry-recognized multi-disciplinary Research Centre of experts focusing on medium-term to long-term issues to achieve this. The IRC will work closely with an open, innovative ecosystem with Huawei customers to address real-world issues. The IRC will also engage with key European universities to build a basic research capability to support Huawei technical projects.
The cloud provides flexible and low-cost IT resources across the Internet. As more cloud providers seek to drive greater business outcomes and the environments of the cloud become more complicated, it is evident that the era of intelligent cloud has arrived. Recent advancements in Machine Learning and AI such as Large Language Model, Deep Learning holds the promise for solving some of the most complex challenges in cloud management that were not possible before. To name a few, proactive anomaly detection, dynamic and intelligent resource allocation, intelligent fault diagnosis and network demand prediction are among the challenging problems in this space.
Huawei Ireland Research Centre is expanding an LLM research team that will focus on research and developing AI algorithms for cutting-edge advancements in LLM and Agents, with a focus on domain-specific foundation models, multi agent and web agent systems tailored to Huawei Consumer Cloud services. Key application areas include smart health, data, infrastructure and advertising operations, etc.
The Ireland-based research team will work closely with the Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG) in the Headquarters, CBG covers smartphones, PC and tablets, wearables, mobile broadband device, family device and device cloud service, and is the second largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. Huawei Consumer BG is dedicated to delivering the latest technologies to consumers and sharing the happiness of technological advances with more people around the world. Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance LLM applications in real business scenarios.
Ability to independently complete research, development, and deployment.
Collaborate with other team members, such as frontend developers, product managers, and other teams to define and implement features and improvements.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that is easy to maintain and scale.
Troubleshoot and debug issues in production and development environments.
Continuously optimize backend systems to handle increased traffic and provide a seamless user experience.
Stay updated with the latest technologies and contribute to the overall improvement of backend systems.
Skills & Qualifications
Advanced Degree: Ph.D. or master degree in Computer Science, AI, or a related field.
Strong Engineering Skills: 3+ years of backend/algorithm development experience with deep proficiency in Python.
Proven LLM & Agent Experience: Hands-on experience developing LLM models, LLM-based applications or agents (e.g., RAG systems, AI assistants, chatbots).
Full-Cycle Ownership: Demonstrated ability to independently research, develop, and deploy projects from concept to production.
Problem Solver: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle complex, ambiguous challenges.
Team Player: Effective communicator and collaborative team member with strong mentorship abilities.
Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or vector databases.
Publications in top AI conferences.
Contributions to open-source AI projects.
