We are looking for a Linux Administrator to support and maintain our Linux infrastructure. The ideal candidate has experience managing enterprise Linux environments, troubleshooting system issues, implementing security best practices, and supporting critical business applications. This role requires strong technical and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Linux System Administration
Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Linux servers (Red Hat and Ubuntu).
Perform system monitoring, patching, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
Infrastructure & Platform Support
Support physical, virtual, and AWS-based Linux environments used for semiconductor design.
Manage storage, backups, file systems, and core infrastructure services such as DNS, LDAP, email, printing, and web/application servers.
Administer HPC clusters, job scheduling platforms, and engineering data management tools.
Ensure system reliability, availability, and security.
Security & Compliance
Implement security best practices, system hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
Support audits, compliance activities, firewall management, and access reviews.
Incident Management & Operations
Monitor infrastructure health and respond to system issues and outages.
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Maintain operational documentation and procedures.
Automation & Continuous Improvement
Develop scripts and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.
Support infrastructure automation, configuration management, and DevOps initiatives.
Collaboration & Support
Work closely with engineering, network, security, cloud, and application teams.
Provide technical support and knowledge sharing across the IT organization.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
3–5+ years of Linux system administration experience.
Experience managing enterprise Linux environments, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Ubuntu.
Experience supporting virtualized environments such as VMware, Hyper-V, or similar platforms.
Knowledge of NetApp storage, NFS, and backup/recovery solution such as Rubrik.
Proficiency in Bash scripting and Linux command-line administration.
Understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, SSH, and NTP.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana).
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in semiconductors, EDA, or high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
Knowledge of container technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Linux certifications such as RHCSA or RHCE are a plus.
Soft Skills
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Customer-focused mindset.
Experience with project management and using AI tools to improve productivity is a plus.
