As a Senior Linux Administrator, you will be part of a global team managing and optimising a large-scale Red Hat/Ubuntu Linux infrastructure across multiple regions. You’ll design, implement, and maintain mission-critical systems, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge technologies, cloud platforms, and automation tools. This role includes responsibilities for interacting with internal customers at ISS STOXX and participating in engineering projects from the design phase through implementation and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Container Platforms: Design, deploy, and support Docker/Podman, Kubernetes (K8S/K3S), and OpenShift clusters

  • Cloud & Data Centre: Operate and optimise infrastructure across on-prem and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including installations, upgrades, and migrations

  • Security & Resilience: Implement Linux hardening, patching, access controls, backup/restore, and disaster recovery/BCP procedures

  • Automation & IaC: Build and maintain configuration management and Infrastructure as Code using Ansible and Terraform (GitOps workflows preferred)

  • Web Stack & Services: Support LAMP and related web technologies; maintain CI/CD and release processes in coordination with engineering teams

  • Virtualisation & Compute: Plan and execute transitions for Windows/Linux workloads in VMware environments; optimise CPU/latency/throughput and storage strategies

  • Observability & Compliance: Maintain monitoring/alerting frameworks; ensure adherence to ISS IT policies and standards

  • Collaboration & Support: Partner with internal customers, lead engineering projects from design to production, participate in global on-call rotation

Required Qualifications

  • 5-8 years administering Enterprise Linux (Red Hat/Ubuntu strongly preferred), including performance tuning, networking, storage, and security

  • Hands-on GCP experience:

    • Operating and securing workloads on Google Cloud Platform (e.g., Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, VPC networking, IAM)

    • Observability with Cloud MonitoringCloud Logging; cost and capacity awareness

  • Containers & Orchestration: Production experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift and container runtimes (Docker/Podman)

  • Automation & IaC: Strong proficiency in Ansible and Terraform (module design, state management, workspace hygiene)

  • Virtualisation & Hardware: Experience with VMware, Cisco/Fortinet networking, HPE & UCS servers, and Pure Storage or comparable platforms

  • Resilience: Experience implementing DR/BCP strategies and backup/restore tooling

  • Communication: Clear documentation and stakeholder communication; ability to work with distributed/global teams in English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • DevOps practices and CI/CD (e.g., GitLab CI/GitHub Actions), artefact registries, and pipeline hardening

  • CyberArk Privileged Access Management administration

  • Red Hat product suite (e.g., RHS, RHGS, RHDS)

  • Additional config management exposure (Puppet/Chef/Salt) alongside primary Ansible experience

  • Multi-cloud familiarity (AWS/Azure) and SRE practices (SLIs/SLOs, error budgets)

  • GCP certification, such as Professional Cloud Engineer
