We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Library & Council Services Assistant – Children & Youth in the Kaipātiki Local Board.

This is a 38-hour permanent position, on a Tuesday to Saturday roster, based primarily at Glenfield Library. Flexibility is required to work across our neighbouring Kaipātiki Local Board libraries in Birkenhead and Northcote.

The shift pattern for this role is:

8.30 – 5.30 Tuesday to Friday

9.30 – 4.30 Saturday

In this role, you will be working closely with and supporting our Senior Librarian to plan and deliver engaging programmes and events for tamariki and rangatahi. You will be ready to step into a senior role when needed, while also supporting the team with day-to-day library operations, and being a role model in providing outstanding customer service. You will excel at making our customers, library team and stakeholders feel welcome and emboldened to engage in our busy library spaces.

• A digital hero, confident with technology and able to support customers with devices and online resources.
• A can-do attitude and a willingness to learn, try new things, share knowledge and build the skills of the whole.
• A clean driver’s licence.
