  • This role supports the innovation strategy for the bp Legal, Ethics & Compliance teams and build the future of how we deliver value to the business

  • Bp is committed to bringing organizational change through innovation and technology and this role supports the legal functions part in that strategy

  • This role will support the evolution of the bp Legal, Ethics and Compliance functions. We want to push the boundaries of where we can take the function and are looking for someone to come along and challenge what’s possible and build a function that is set up to deliver value through innovation and technology.

  • As such we are looking for a senior professional with demonstrable experience in delivering Legal solutions with wide exposure to the legal operations industry and wider legal industry in their career to date.
    Design & deliver legal solutions

  • Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of scalable legal technology solutions, translating legal and business requirements into structured, efficient business systems
    Re-engineer legal processes

  • Transform how legal services are delivered by redesigning workflows using automation, AI, and digital tools
    Build and configure solutions

  • Develop and implement automated workflows, templates, and tools using enterprise and low-code platforms
    Integrate systems & manage data

  • Design integrations across legal and enterprise systems, ensuring consistent, secure, and well-structured data flows
    Drive innovation & experimentation

  • Explore and pilot emerging technologies, developing proof-of-concepts and translating them into practical use cases
    Identify high-impact opportunities

  • Proactively spot opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and enhance legal service delivery through innovation
    Bridge legal and technology teams

  • Act as a translator between legal partners and technical teams, shaping requirements into actionable solutions
    Enable adoption & realize value

  • Support rollout and adoption of solutions, driving measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, and user experience


Essential Education:

  • Proven experience in legal operations, legal technology or product management with Legal Tech tools.


Core Experience

  • Proven experience in legal solutions, legal operations, or legal engineering roles

  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver technology-enabled solutionswithin a legal or professional services environment

  • Experience working with legal platforms(e.g. DMS, CLM, matter management, or workflow tools, agentic and genAI)

  • Consistent track record of process improvement or transformation initiatives


Technical & Solution Skills

  • Experience designing or configuring workflows, automation, or low-code/no-code solutions

  • Understanding of system integration concepts(APIs, data flows, interoperability)

  • Ability to structure and manage legal data, metadata, and information models

  • Familiarity with emerging technologies (Agentic AI, generative AI, automation tools)in a legal context


Professional Skills

  • Ability to translate between legal, business, and technical stakeholders

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on structured solution design

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills and team leadership skills

  • Experience facilitating workshops, requirements gathering, and process design sessions


Education & Background

  • Degree in Law, Technology, Engineering, or a related field(or equivalent experience)

  • Legal qualification or prior legal experience desirable but not essential

  • Comfortable working in cross-functional and agile environments

  • Passionate about innovation and transforming traditional ways of working

  • Able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery
