WHO
Our client is a major international broadcasting company which is seeking an experienced legal counsel to join its in-house legal team. The role operates across television, digital streaming and production. The working environment is fast-paced, commercially driven and collaborative, with the legal function embedded directly alongside business units.
WHAT
You will draft, review and negotiate advertising, sponsorship, branded content, brand collaboration and event agreements, as well as content production, co-production, commissioning, artiste/talent, music, format, footage and rights clearance agreements. You will handle IP licensing and content exploitation matters including copyright, trademarks, programme formats, archive footage and other content-related rights. You will provide practical legal advice to business units on advertising, production, copyright clearance and IP commercialisation, and liaise with external lawyers, agents and internal stakeholders as required.
YOU
You must be a qualified lawyer with at least 4 years' post-qualification experience; stronger candidates may be considered for a more senior title. Strong experience in copyright law, IP licensing, advertising, sponsorship, content production and/or media/entertainment commercial contracts is essential.
Experience gained from a media, entertainment, broadcasting, OTT or advertising legal practice is advantageous. Excellent drafting, negotiation, research and communication skills are required, with a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Mandarin. Knowledge or experience in using AI tools for legal research, drafting, translation or document review would be a distinct advantage.
