
[What the role is]
As a member of the Legal Department, you will provide legal advice and creative solutions on a wide range of supervisory and regulatory issues covering banking, capital markets and insurance as well as on international agreements, financial and commercial matters. You will be challenged to anticipate and address new financial trends from the legal perspective.
[What you will be working on]
Division 1 advises on the legal aspects pertaining to the prudential and market conduct functions of MAS. This portfolio offers opportunities and challenges in developing the legal framework for the regulation of new financial businesses and in meeting changing global financial standards. You will also be involved in giving legal advice, drafting legislation and other regulatory instruments relating to the subjects of banking, insurance, capital markets and financial technology.
Division 2 is responsible for the legal aspects of the Central Banking function and international relations of MAS. This portfolio affords opportunities and challenges in addressing the myriad of legal issues relating to a variety of subjects on governance, Government securities, money market operations, risk management, procurement and human resources. On the international front, you will participate in international fora and advise on legal issues relating to international standards set by international bodies such as the International Monetary Fund, the Financial Action Task Force, the Financial Stability Board, the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, the International Organisation of Securities Commission and the International Association of Insurance Supervisors. You will also be engaged in issues relating to public international law and private law issues including the General Agreement on Trade in Services, free trade agreements, and bilateral and multilateral memoranda of understanding.

• Relevant experience or degree in Law and admitted to legal practice
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently
You will be working in a fast-paced environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and needs of stakeholders, as well as the agility to respond to changes and developments.
