Reporting to the Head of Legal – Luxembourg or another identified senior member of the team, the Senior Legal Advisor is a key part of the Legal team’s and company’s success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide legal management, support and advice for clients of Waystone;
- Contribute to the oversight on the legal developments and lead regulatory projects;
- Deal with the different legal and governance aspects related to the different functions of Waystone and especially related to the lifecycle management of investment funds and legal deliverables on legal projects;
- Provide legal advice to other business areas within Waystone;
- Identify and propose solutions for mitigating the legal risks within Waystone;
- Report to senior members of the team on legal activities and identified legal risks;
- Help to draft, vet and negotiate contracts on various legal matters;
- Coordinate, oversee and ensure that the Waystone contracts, legal documents and templates are up to date and compliant with the applicable laws and regulations;
- When applicable, undertake directorship mandates for Waystone clients;
- Participate into external working groups with the fund associations such as ALFI, LPEA, etc.;
- Represent and be a brand ambassador of Waystone in external professional events, conferences, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in the fund industry
- Strong regulatory and legal knowledge
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with senior management and boards
- Capacity and affinity to work in an international environment
- Solution-oriented approach to resolving problems and ability to handle multiple complex matters in parallel
Education:
- Master in Law
- CCDL - Cours complémentaires en droit luxembourgeois considered a plus
- Advanced legal education with relevant Law and/or Finance certifications demonstrating strong expertise in Luxembourg law.
