· Senior Lecturer (Clinical Education) to contribute to the University of Sydney’s rural and remote health education initiatives.

· Base Salary $162,347 + 17%

About the opportunity

The Broken Hill Rural Clinical School (RCS), also known as the Broken Hill University Department of Rural Health (UDRH), is funded under the Commonwealth Department of Health’s Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training (RHMT) Program.

Our focus at the BHUDRH, is to lead the design and delivery of innovative teaching and learning environments for health students undertaking their placement in our region. We also actively work to improve the quality of health care for rural, remote and First Nations Peoples by fostering local and regional collaborations and enhancing national expertise in health research and the translation of research into policy and practice.

Our team is distributed across three campuses Broken Hill, Wentworth and Bourke regions of New South Wales.

We are seeking an experienced clinical educator and medical workforce leader for the role of Senior Lecturer (Clinical Education) to contribute to the University of Sydney’s rural and remote health education initiatives. Based within the University Department of Rural Health (UDRH), this role will play a key role in shaping and delivering innovative clinical education programs, strengthening rural workforce capability, and enhancing student and trainee outcomes across multidisciplinary settings.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

· lead the development and implementation of innovative clinical education programs aligned to accreditation standards

· design, review and continuously improve curriculum and teaching practices in health education

· coordinate high-quality teaching and learning experiences across clinical and simulated environments

· supervise and support higher degree research students to successful completion

· lead team-based teaching initiatives and coordinate award or academic programs

· apply contemporary clinical expertise to develop innovative learning resources and teaching strategies

· mentor and provide guidance to clinical educators and lead multidisciplinary teaching teams

· drive workforce development initiatives and contribute to rural training pipeline strategies

· build and maintain strong partnerships with universities, health services, and industry stakeholders

· contribute to a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture aligned with the University’s strategic priorities

About you

· postgraduate qualifications in a relevant medical field

· significant experience in clinical teaching, education design, and curriculum development

· demonstrated leadership experience in mentoring, supervising and developing educators or trainees

· recognised contributor within your clinical profession, with strong credibility and influence

· experience applying contemporary and innovative clinical teaching practices

· proven ability to lead education programs and manage multiple stakeholders across complex environments

· strong communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills

· highly developed organisational, planning and decision-making
