- Remuneration: $132,445 - $149,228 + 17% superannuation and leave loading
- Location: UNSW Kensington Campus – Hybrid work arrangement (2-3 days onsite)

Why Your Role Matters:
UNSW's LMS transformation is a critical enabler for teaching and learning across the University. As Senior Learning Designer, you will sit at the intersection of academic practice, curriculum renewal and digital learning, helping shape the primary digital interface for UNSW's educational delivery.
Working across the Division of Education and Student Experience, Faculties, Schools and central units, you will build empathetic and influential relationships with academic staff and leaders, creating the conditions, frameworks and support that enable high-quality curriculum aligned with UNSW's Progress for All strategy.
You will bring expert guidance on curriculum and educational design, Universal Design for Learning, assessment and feedback, digital assessment platforms and emerging pedagogical trends. Your research and advice will help UNSW evaluate innovation, improve practice and lead meaningful change.
Working with the LMS Program leadership team and reporting to the Learning Design Director, you will influence university-wide solutions, guide initiatives from concept and pilot through to operation, and lead through collaboration, service orientation and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities Summary:
- Collaborate with University staff to design enterprise LMS solutions, build capability, elevate educational excellence and improve the experience of staff and students.
- Build strong, influential relationships with academic and professional stakeholders through consultation, advice and change management, supporting innovative teaching strategies and curriculum renewal.
- Research the latest pedagogical innovations and lead the systematic evaluation and trial of emerging educational design approaches and learning technologies.
- Manage and transition LMS initiatives in an agile environment from concept and pilot through to fully operational solutions, with agreed deliverables, governance and timeframes.
- Act as a delegated deputy project lead where required, lead a small team or project workstream, and coordinate delivery across the LMS transformation lifecycle.
- Contribute to the Innovation Pillar of UNSW's Progress for All Strategy, supporting the development, implementation and operation of services, systems and protocols that advance teaching and learning.
- Prepare high-quality reports, recommendations and decision material in line with governance protocols for business-as-usual and LMS strategic initiatives.
- Interpret requirements and provide leadership, strategic advice and solution-focused actions for technology-enabled learning and teaching practices across UNSW.
- Maintain current and emerging knowledge of digital assessment platforms and pedagogical trends, translating that knowledge into practice improvement and professional development.
- Provide responsive, student-centred support to students, Faculties, Schools and central units within agreed service expectations, contributing to a culture of professionalism, accountability and continuous service improvement.

Skills and Experience Summary:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in education, learning design or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience supporting academic staff in higher education, preferably in assessment, curriculum design or digital learning contexts.
- Working knowledge of learning technologies used in assessment, such as Moodle, Turnitin, Inspera or similar platforms.
- Understanding of contemporary assessment principles and effective feedback practices, including authentic assessment, formative feedback and constructive alignment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain educational concepts clearly and work collaboratively across diverse academic teams.
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing and facilitating professional development workshops in face-to-face, hybrid and online contexts.
- Demonstrated organisational and project management skills, with the ability to planning and coordination of multiple work priorities, project and governance reporting requirements, planning and deliver to deadlines.
- A proactive, student-centred approach to problem-solving, with attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement and service excellence.
- Competency with Microsoft 365 and online platforms and systems, together with a demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in curriculum and learning design.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW's values, strategic priorities and approach to teaching and learning excellence, together with relevant health and safety responsibilities.
