Develops Children's Healthcare of Atlanta's comprehensive physician education program. Provides leadership and coordination for the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of educational activities.

Experience

  • Five years of experience in a medical, special events, or education environment
  • Two years of experience in continuing medical education (CME) or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Continuing Medical Education Professional (CCMEP)
  • Experience in event planning, including basic knowledge of catering, audio/visual, venue selection, and budget development/reconciliation

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Demonstrated success in developing effective relationships with multiple individuals

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops and coordinates high-quality education activities that meet the needs of healthcare professionals and position Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta as a leader in pediatric education.
  • Ensures that activities are in direct support of the strategic plan.
  • Collaborates with faculty and other activity organizers on the conception and design of certified continuing education activities, with emphasis on identification of professional practice gaps, educational needs of learners, instructional design/methods, logistical planning, evaluation/assessment, and compliance with accreditation guidelines.
  • Monitors the presentation of education activities through onsite conference management and oversight.
  • Proactively seeks and promotes opportunities for education activities and the application of resources.
  • Conducts site visits and coordinates with host sites on dates, meeting rooms, faculty rooms, audio/video, and catering.
  • Solicits funding to underwrite programs from pharmaceuticals, equipment companies, and foundations.
  • Provides direct supervision of program coordinator(s).
  • Manages ordering of mailing labels and bulk mailings.
  • Prepares, edits, and proofs brochures, ads, and other printed materials for assigned activities.
  • Ensures that activities are planned and implemented in accordance with ACCME, MAG, and GNA, and other accrediting providers guidelines, and maintains accurate guideline-related documentation for each activity.
  • Maintains accreditation compliance and supports ongoing
  • accreditation activities for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Provider status in the category of continuing medical education (CME) credits for physicians, continuing nursing education (CNE), and other affiliations.
