Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on investment leader to build and run a co-investment vehicle, working alongside a network of venture capital partners to deploy and grow committed capital across an emerging portfolio.

Location: Delhi - 2 years contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with country/regional teams and subject-matter specialists to pinpoint opportunities consistent with the relevant investment strategy.
• Conducting comprehensive due diligence on prospective grants and investments, covering the business model, investment partners, leadership team, impact and charitability considerations, financial viability, and risk factors.
• Managing the structuring of investments and negotiating terms and conditions.
• Bringing forward proposed opportunities to senior management and the Investment Committee for review.
• Actively and proactively overseeing portfolio investments to ensure they remain positioned to achieve impact goals and stay compliant with agreed terms.
• Monitoring and analyzing market trends, novel structures, and transactions to shape investment and grant decision-making.
• Building relationships with partner organizations and leveraging those networks to help mobilize capital across the organization's core markets.
• Working alongside country/regional teams, subject-matter specialists, and partner organizations to spot opportunities and trends within core markets and sectors that inform strategy execution.
• Monitoring and assessing emerging sub-themes such as project development or venture capital and new financial instruments such as minimum revenue guarantees or local currency products.
• Providing broader team support, including analysis of capital deployment, portfolio recalibration, and preparation of written assessments on the execution of investment strategy.
• Positioning the investment portfolio optimally to meet its performance and impact goals through strong portfolio construction and value-added portfolio management.

• Deal Execution Background: Demonstrated background in investment execution, sound investment judgment, and strong financial structuring and analytical capabilities; skilled in due diligence, familiar with blended finance instruments, and effective at negotiating deal terms.
• Judgment and Drive: Solid project management capabilities, combined with the ability to assess risks and opportunities, formulate investment recommendations, and take initiative to drive results.
• Portfolio Strategy Acumen: Skilled at developing investment recommendations grounded in investment rationale, fit within the broader portfolio, impact considerations, and risk/return analysis.
• Impact-Driven Mindset: Deep dedication to evaluating and directing investments toward meaningful social impact.
• Interpersonal Effectiveness: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and work effectively as part of a team.

Education, Experience and Skills:

• Bachelor's/Master's or advanced degree in finance or economics, with minimum 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Proven track record sourcing, structuring, negotiating, and executing impact-driven investments, with strong analytical skills and experience in transaction due diligence; background in energy, climate, or infrastructure strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex legal documentation.
• Entrepreneurial and strategic mindset - able to spot opportunities, identify critical issues, and recommend creative solutions.
• Strong multi-tasking ability and comfort operating in a dynamic, fast-changing environment, paired with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Genuine interest in, and sensitivity to, working across diverse cultures, with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
