Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Lead - Shared Services to join our Human Resources group as we scale up and drive digital and financial inclusion across our markets.

You're building people systems. But are you building the ones that keep 10 million customers' employee promises intact?

M-KOPA has just crossed 10 million customers across Africa, unlocked over $2 billion in credit, and helped 86% of those customers report a better quality of life — many for the first time in their financial lives. None of that happens without an HR Shared Services engine that never drops a beat: contracts issued on time, payroll inputs correct the first time, employee relations cases handled with care and closed cleanly, records that hold up to any audit. That engine is what you'd be running.

What makes this role different

Most HR Shared Services roles are measured on tickets closed. This one is measured on trust — the trust that a contract is accurate, a payroll input is audit-ready, and an employee relations case is handled fairly and confidentially. You'll own the full employee lifecycle operation: onboarding and probation, contracting, records, payroll inputs (including commissions and bonuses), benefits administration (medical, pension, group life, and wellness), offboarding, and ER case administration. You'll also have real license to use data and automation to make that operation better — this role explicitly includes building dashboards, spotting root causes of recurring errors, and piloting AI-enabled workflows with proper governance, not just running the process as inherited.

Reporting Structure

Reports To: Head of HR Shared Services

What we need from you

  • Accountability for end-to-end HR Shared Services delivery — records, contracts, payroll inputs, offboarding, and employee relations case administration — with a track record of hitting SLA and quality targets in a fast-moving, multi-country environment.

  • A current Chartered HR Practitioner status with the Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management, Ghana (CIHRM Ghana), paired with demonstrable experience translating policy and business changes into operational processes, templates, and controls that people actually follow.

  • Comfort using data to diagnose service problems and build simple dashboards, plus experience identifying or piloting automation and AI use cases within HR operations — with the judgement to apply proper governance around accuracy, bias, privacy, and auditability.
