The Senior Lead Engineer is responsible for leading engineering design and development activities within IAM, ensuring that products meet M+H standards, customer specifications, and quality requirements while supporting timely and cost-effective delivery
▪ Lead the development of design concepts and creation of 2D/3D models in accordance with
customer requirements and M+H internal standards.
▪ Conduct and moderate functional design reviews within the product groups to ensure technical
robustness and design maturity.
▪ Prepare, review, and maintain technical design documentation in the CIM database, ensuring
accuracy, traceability, and proper configuration management.
▪ Identify business-critical technical topics and support prioritization of key development activities
through appropriate governance.
▪ Lead complex IAM development projects and guide engineers on design solutions,
methodologies, and technical problem solving.
▪ Support Experts in identifying future technology trends, innovation opportunities, and business
relevant technical topics.
▪ Drive activities related to patents and intellectual property protection for new and existing
products, and provide alternative technical solutions where required.
▪ Ensure adherence to the M+H Product Development Process (xSEP) adapted for IAM
development and coordinate engineering changes through the TCM process.
▪ Drive initiatives related to digitization, automation, and engineering productivity improvements
within the design function.
▪ Ensure compliance with M+H technical standards, engineering processes, and quality
requirements, and coordinate technical communication with customers, suppliers, and internal
stakeholders.
▪ Support planning and monitoring of engineering project budgets and assist in initiating corrective
actions where deviations occur.
▪ Coordinate required internal and external engineering resources to ensure efficient project
execution across all development stages.
▪ Ensure design readiness and compliance for IATF 16949 internal and external audits.
▪ Ensure timely communication and closure of technical open points with internal and external
stakeholders.
▪ Mentor and coach engineers and senior engineers, strengthening design methodologies and
enhancing technical expertise within the team.
▪ Promote knowledge sharing and dissemination of best practices across the engineering team.

▪ Support technical and personal development of engineers through mentoring, knowledge
sharing, and guidance on engineering best practices.
▪ Demonstrate intercultural awareness and effective conflict management skills while working with
cross-functional and global teams.
▪ Support the Manager in identifying skill gaps within the team and contributing to development
plans and coaching initiatives.
▪ Encourages continuous improvement by challenging the status quo and promoting a resilient and
solution-oriented mindset within the team

▪ University degree or equivalent education in the field of Engineering
▪ 11 - 13 years of relevant work experience
▪ Experience in (automotive or similar) product development processes
Skills & Competencies:
▪ Know- how in customer processes and standards (APQP….)
▪ Understanding of financial basics
▪ Knowledge of quality systems and standards (e.g. TS16949 etc…)
▪ Product know-how of M+H products as well as system understanding is an added advantage
▪ Proficient use of IT-tools (MS Office, CATIA V5, Solid Works, CIM DATABASE, SAP, CAD, …)
▪ English language skills
