About the Role

As a Senior Lead, Automation Implementation in Group Technology’s Control Testing Squad, you will be instrumental in strengthening ANZ’s automation implementation strategy uplifting capability, creating and improving future‑state processes, and enhancing how the bank manages and completes automation.

You will bring strong Project Management, delivery and coordination capabilities, driving planning, execution, and governance across the initiative. This includes producing and maintaining timelines, managing releases, coordinating across technology and business stakeholders (including vendors), and providing clear reporting to leadership. You will ensure requirements and delivery outputs are well understood, risks are actively managed, and outcomes are delivered in line with program objectives.

What will your day look like?

As a Senior Lead Automation Implementation, you will:

Leading end-to-end delivery of the automation implementation, managing team cadences, setting clear priorities and driving execution to meet program objectives, timelines, and outcomes.

Managing scope and ensuring requirements, process changes, and solution design align to business outcomes, while proactively addressing risks, impacts, and dependencies

Driving clarity across end-to-end processes and customer/staff experiences, ensuring alignment and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.

Leading project governance and reporting, ensuring risks, issues, and dependencies are actively managed and meet enterprise delivery and risk requirements, with strong documentation discipline.

Applying strong technology awareness to support solution discussions, enabling and driving informed decisions and alignment between business and technical delivery.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Strong understanding of automation and control testing methodologies, including design and operating‑effectiveness assessment.
• Strong knowledge of non‑financial risk frameworks, risk obligations, and regulatory standards
• Advanced capability in data analytics and automation tools to support scalable, efficient control testing.
• Familiarity with governance, risk, and audit reporting requirements.
• Ability to contribute to continuous improvement of control testing methodologies, tools, and practices.
• Exposure to regulatory change, remediation activity, or broader control‑uplift program
