Job Description
Senior-level Landman position responsible for conducting broad and complex land work in support of acquisition, development, divestiture, title, curative, and lease maintenance activities. This role applies advanced knowledge of land management, plans and conducts assignments with limited supervision, performs more complex work, may represent the company at land and lease sales, and may assume responsibility for whole projects or complex assignments involving problem diagnosis and innovative solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Independently conduct complex land work, including evaluation of records, titles, abstracts, leases, and related instruments to determine ownership, burdens, leasehold position, and development opportunities.
- Lead title review and curative efforts on more difficult assignments, resolve complex title defects, and manage damage claims and ownership issues within assigned areas.
- Plan and conduct assignments involving acquisitions, divestitures, leasing, trades, and development programs, using advanced land knowledge and limited supervision.
- Represent the company at land or lease sales, support bid and negotiation strategies, and assist in evaluating market opportunities aligned with business objectives.
- Negotiate and draft more complex agreements and contract provisions, including sophisticated lease forms and amendments tailored to particular circumstances.
- Coordinate cross-functional problem solving with Legal, Regulatory, Operations, Accounting, Land Administration, and external advisors to resolve land, title, and commercial issues.
- Manage projects or complex assignments that may require diagnosis of issues, evaluation of alternatives, and development of practical or innovative solutions.
- Build and maintain strong industry relationships, stay current on market activity, and serve as a knowledgeable and reliable resource to peers and less experienced Landmen.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Land Management, Energy Management, Business Administration, Law, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a Landman.
- An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
- Permian Basin experience.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
