KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lease & Contract Administration:
- Research leases, contracts, and regulatory orders to support active operations and due diligence.
- Process payments for new lease purchases and review all supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare transmittal forms, check requests, oil and gas leases, rights-of-way, and other associated land contracts.
- Assist in drafting correspondence and contracts in coordination with landmen and legal.
Partner & AFE Administration:
- Prepare and distribute partner ballots; monitor proposals and track operator and non-operator elections through completion.
- Assist in rigline preparation, including working interest calculations, curative documentation, and AFE generation.
- Review and code invoices to the appropriate AFE, circulate for internal approval, and facilitate timely payment.
- Monitor AFE spend against approved amounts and flag variances.
Land Records & Data Integrity:
- Communicate trades, assignments, lease burdens, and other title changes to the Land Administration team to ensure corporate records are current and accurate.
- Maintain data integrity across land systems and applications through critical analysis, quality control reporting, and proactive issue resolution.
- Support the team during acquisitions and integrations, including data migration and records reconciliation.
Process Improvement & Collaboration:
- Identify innovative tools and workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy across land operations.
- Participate in — or lead — the design, development, and implementation of business process improvements.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional partners including Accounting, Operations, and Legal.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- 8+ years of land tech or land administration experience in oil and gas.
- Deep familiarity with lease administration, AFE processing, partner elections, and land contract documentation.
- Experience with land management software; Quorum On Demand Land strongly preferred.
- Experience with ERP accounting systems
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver accurate work under deadline pressure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a sharp eye for detail and data quality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable corresponding with operators, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborative team player who is equally capable of self-directed execution.
Preferred:
- GIS platform experience (ESRI/ArcGIS or equivalent).
- Experience supporting acquisitions, divestitures, or integrations from a land records perspective.
- Familiarity with working interest and net revenue interest calculations.
