Job Description

The Senior Laboratory Technical Specialist is a key technical contributor within the Machine Readable Features laboratory.
The role focuses on the development, characterization, validation, and support of infrared absorber solutions, including materials, inks, and measurement methods used for security and authentication applications.
The position combines hands on laboratory work, technical expertise in ink formulation, optical/IR features, and cross functional collaboration with R&D, Product Management, Detection, and Industrialization teams.

ROLE


• Join a multidisciplinary team (electronics, software, optics, chemist, scientist) in the Machine-Readable Features group.
• Support the design of new security features.
• Integration of security pigments in various inks.
• Design of experiments to test new security features
• Draft reports on tasks/projects and share results within the R&D community.
• Establishes technical documentations (in particular TDS and features documents).
• Customer support during printing.
• Perform detailed characterization of materials and ink systems using appropriate analytical and optical/IR techniques
• Design, execute, and document experimental studies to assess performance, reproducibility, and stability of security features
• Develop, adapt, and apply measurement and analytical methodologies to support feature validation and comparability


PROFILE


• Swiss Federal Certificate (CFC/EFZ) in Chemical Laboratory Technology or equivalent with 5 years of experience.
• Experience in ink formulation.
• Experience in performing measurement with equipment and ease of use of new instruments.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office tools for documentation, data processing, and presentations.

• Experience in an analytical chemistry laboratory environment is a strong plus
• Practical knowledge of analytical method development, qualification, or validation
• Familiarity with data treatment, statistical evaluation, and result interpretation
• Detail-oriented, methodical approach with a strong focus on data reliability and documentation
• Good problem solver and innovative spirit, bringing ideas from conception to implementation in industrial environment.
• Autonomous, curious, trustworthy and result-oriented.
• Team player in a multi-cultural working environment with ability to work independently.
• Good knowledge of English and French.
