The Sr. Lab Support Assistant will have a unique position working with Hematology and Oncology patients. This position will be providing procedural support to advanced practice providers during bone marrow biopsies. The main responsibility will be to make slides using the bone marrow specimen in a variety of settings. The Sr. Lab Support Assistant will work alongside an outstanding team of nurses, advanced practice providers and physicians with a vital role in helping us provide extraordinary care to our patients. We are looking for someone who is motivated, autonomous and ready to help expand and grow this role.
Shift Details:
M-F 8am - 5 pm
May rotate to all three campuses

Responsible for all duties related to processing of laboratory specimens directly impacting patient care which may include specimen handling, proper specimen storage, test ordering, test availability, specimen requirements and distribution of patient specimens for laboratory testing. Maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control maintenance of laboratory equipment in compliance with regulatory agencies. Manages information pertaining to patient specimens, and provides difficult and precise technical and clerical assistance requiring in exacting detail. Provides client service communication with internal and external customers.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum two years of experience in a laboratory setting required.
• High school education or equivalent required.
• Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills required.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility required.
• Demonstrate behavioral skills that contribute to a productive work environment and represent the lab in a professional manner required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Post-secondary education in a laboratory, biological sciences, or a health-related field preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Computer experience preferred.
• Attention to detail preferred.
• Ability to multitask preferred.
