Senior Key Account Manager

Mercia Park/Purfleet/Manchester

Monday-Friday

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Key Account Manager to join DSV Road division at any of our main offices.

This role is responsible for the strategic management, retention, development and profitable growth of a portfolio of key and strategically important customers. You will act as the senior commercial point of contact, building strong relationships with customers, driving sustainable growth and ensuring DSV continues to deliver exceptional service and value.

The person we are looking for will be commercially driven, customer focused and able to build credibility with senior stakeholders. They will possess strong negotiation skills, commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities that support both customer success and business growth.

The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Pricing, Customer Service, Finance and Sales teams to develop customer solutions, improve performance and deliver long-term partnerships.

What will you be doing?

As a Senior Key Account Manager, you will take ownership of a portfolio of strategic customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction whilst developing opportunities for growth and profitability.

Key Tasks

• Take full commercial ownership of an assigned portfolio of strategically important Road customers
• Develop and implement account plans focused on retention, growth, profitability and service excellence
• Build strong relationships with key customer stakeholders at both operational and senior management level
• Conduct regular customer reviews, business meetings and governance reviews
• Identify opportunities to increase revenue through additional services, solutions and trade lanes
• Develop and present commercial proposals aligned to customer requirements
• Lead annual rate reviews, commercial negotiations and contract renewals
• Monitor revenue, profitability and customer performance across the portfolio
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality, efficiency and customer experience
• Work collaboratively with operational and functional teams to deliver sustainable customer solutions
• Act as the senior escalation point for significant commercial or service-related issues
• Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts and growth pipelines
• Monitor customer satisfaction and implement corrective actions where required
• Ensure customer contracts, SOPs and governance documentation remain accurate and up to date

About You

• Significant experience in Key Account Management, Strategic Account Management or B2B commercial management
• Strong understanding of the road freight, transport or logistics sector
• Experience managing large and complex customer relationships
• Proven commercial negotiation and contract management experience
• Strong understanding of revenue, margin, profitability and cost-to-serve principles
• Ability to analyse operational, commercial and financial data to support decision making
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering results
• Strategic thinker with a continuous improvement mindset
• Proactive, self-motivated and able to work independently
