Description

At Infor, we're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our ION Connectors team, part of Infor OS. The team develops and maintains a cloud-native integration platform that enables customers to securely connect applications, databases, cloud services and on-premise systems across their enterprise ecosystem.

As a senior member of the team, you will play a key role in designing, developing and maintaining the services that power these integrations. Beyond feature development, you'll help troubleshoot complex customer issues, investigate production escalations, analyse logs and code, and drive technical solutions from concept through delivery.

This role is ideal for a strong Java backend engineer who enjoys understanding how systems work end-to-end, thrives on solving complex technical problems and wants to play an active role in shaping technical solutions. The position also offers opportunities to expand architectural knowledge and take on increasing technical ownership over time.

This is a hybrid position, combining remote work with regular presence at Infor’s Barneveld office.

A Typical Day in the Life Includes

• Designing, developing and maintaining Java-based backend services within Infor's integration platform.
• Building solutions that enable secure communication between cloud and on-premise systems.
• Investigating production issues, analysing logs and identifying root causes of customer-reported problems.
• Delivering fixes and enhancements for business-critical integrations used by customers worldwide.
• Collaborating with architects to design scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
• Breaking down larger initiatives into manageable technical tasks and helping shape implementation approaches.
• Participating in code reviews, architecture discussions and agile ceremonies.
• Writing high-quality, maintainable and testable code.
• Supporting deployment, testing and release activities.
• Working across teams to resolve complex technical challenges and drive solutions from concept through production.
• Contributing to continuous improvements in platform reliability, scalability and performance.

Basic Qualifications

• Significant hands-on experience developing enterprise applications with Java.
• Experience designing and developing REST-based services.
• Experience working with relational databases.
• Experience troubleshooting complex software issues in production environments.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and object-oriented design.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teams.
• Ability to analyse complex technical problems and drive them to resolution independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Experience with Spring Framework.
• Experience with Maven and modern software development tooling.
• Experience writing automated unit and integration tests.
• Experience working with large-scale integration, middleware or enterprise software platforms.
• Experience mentoring engineers or taking technical ownership of larger initiatives.
• Experience estimating work, breaking down complex projects and driving delivery.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to modern front-end technologies such as Angular.
• Interest in progressing towards a technical leadership or architecture career path.
