Helm Point Solutions is a woman-owned cybersecurity and physical security firm supporting the nation’s most critical systems and infrastructure.
We are supporting a fully funded, mission-critical program in the Ft. Meade area and are seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to help build and maintain a large-scale enterprise system used by the U.S. Intelligence Community. This role offers long-term stability, technically challenging work, and the opportunity to work alongside elite engineering teams supporting national security missions.
This is not a maintenance role. Engineers on this team are responsible for designing, building, testing, and deploying new capabilities in an Agile, DevOps-driven environment.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
Design and develop enterprise Java applications using Spring and modern frameworks
Build and maintain RESTful web services and backend business logic
Develop automated unit, integration, and behavior-driven tests
Work in a SAFe/Agile environment with sprint planning, PI planning, and daily stand-ups
Collaborate with engineers, testers, and system architects to deliver high-quality software
Support deployments to test and production environments using CI/CD pipelines
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
Strong, professional experience with Java
Experience with Spring (Spring Boot, Spring Data, or related frameworks)
Experience with enterprise Java technologies such as JPA, Hibernate, or Java EE
Experience building or consuming RESTful web services
Experience working with relational or NoSQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar)
Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit or Mockito
Experience working in an Agile environment
Experience using source control tools such as Git
