The Market Risk Technology Engineering Team (in TD Securities)is responsible forthe development and support of our derivatives (Interest Rate, FX, Credit, Commodity) valuation, tradingriskand enterprise market risk for our organization.Our applications are hybrid cloud based and consist of: Risk & Capital Studio, Valuation Services and Curve & Volatility Generation.Themainteam isin Toronto and New York.
About This Role
The Market Risk Technology Engineering Team is looking to on-board aself-starting, high-performingJava software engineer with a strong engineering mindset to help us grow our risk & valuation applications throughsoftware design anditsimplementation in Java.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to thestrategic growth and implementation of our risk & valuation applications
Development Opportunitiesinclude:
Migrating to a new cloud environment
Building new and refactoring legacy applications
Influencingthe overall architectural direction
Assistin our software evolution from batch orientated end of day to intra-day
Leading development of crucial software components
Inspiring and mentoring team members on the use of software development best practices
Job Requirements:
Technical Skills
Undergraduate Degree or Technical Certificate
10-15+ years of Java experience
Experience in the Spring tech stack and building microservices using Spring Boot
Experience in designing and integrating with REST APIs,gRPCendpoints.
Experience working withmessaging technologies(Kafka)(ZeroMQ, GoogleProtoBuf– a plus)
Experience withHadoop, Spark,Parquetor similar Big Datatechnologies
Experience with RDBMS, demonstrable fluency in SQL
Experience of Git, CI/CD toolset (Maven / Gradle), Jenkins, working within an Agile environment
Strong understanding of clean coding practices
Experience working with scalable and low latencysystems
A passion for simplifying and automating work, for making things better, for being efficient and helpingothers
Business Skills
Strong communicationskillsExperience in collaborating efficiently within a global team.
Demonstrable experience working in a fast-paced environment,working with PMs and our business sponsors.
Knowledge of capital markets productsincluding derivatives and cross-asset products
Hands-on experience with market risk,trade valuations,FRTB,VaRand stress testingprocesses a hugeplus
