Job Description
Senior Java Developer / Java Architect
We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer / Java Architect to design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using modern Java and cloud technologies. The role combines hands-on development, system design, integration, and technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop Java 8+ / Spring Boot microservices.
- Design REST/SOAP APIs, messaging systems, and enterprise integrations.
- Define scalable architectures with focus on performance, security, availability, and fault tolerance.
- Evaluate technologies and support modernization of legacy applications.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines and contribute to DevOps practices.
- Support applications throughout their full lifecycle, including post-go-live maintenance.
- Perform architectural and code reviews and mentor senior developers.
- Work closely with customers and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Contribute to an Agile development environment.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Strong expertise in Java 8+, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST/SOAP
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD, Maven, Jenkins, and Docker
- Experience with Kafka or similar messaging technologies is a plus.
- Strong system design and analytical skills.
- Proven customer-facing experience.
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
Work Arrangement
- Location: Brussels, Belgium
- Hybrid: 1 day per week on-site.
- Start Date: 2 October 2026
- Duration: 6 months
