Job Title: Senior IT Technician

Location: Great Yarmouth & Lowestoft Campus

Hours: Full Time - 37 Hours - 1.0 FTE

Contract: Permanent

Salary: Band G (£26,114.55 - £27,713.40FTE)

This post will report to the Systems and Network Administrator and will be required to travel to all campuses on occasions. This is a senior post within the IT Support Team and the post holder will be an experienced, technician capable of dealing with complex technical issues and projects. The post holder will work within the IT Team supporting the daily operations of the College as well as providing second line support and completing assigned projects. The post holder will work closely with the Systems and Network Administrator to resolve complex technical issues, support infrastructure projects and maintain a high-quality IT service.

Key requirements include:

• Level 3 IT qualification or equivalent.
• At least four years' experience in a similar IT role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Windows desktop and server environments.
• Understanding of networking, IP infrastructure and IT support processes.

Key needs from you and the role;

• Providing first and second-line IT support to staff and students.
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and network issues.
• Supporting and maintaining network infrastructure, including switches, routers and firewalls.
• Assisting with IT projects, equipment deployment and network development.
• Training staff on IT systems and software.
• Producing user guides and supporting the development of junior IT Technicians.
• Ensuring compliance with IT policies, security requirements and service standards.
• Supporting teaching and learning through effective management of classroom technology and IT resources.
