Job Title

Senior IT SOX Compliance Specialist (EMEA Grade - Surveyor)As a Senior IT SOX Compliance Specialist, you will play a key role in strengthening and operating the organization’s global internal control framework. You will own core elements of the SOX 404 compliance program, working across business and IT functions to ensure controls are well designed, operating effectively, and audit ready.
This isn’t a checkbox role. You’ll act as a trusted SOX partner to stakeholders across regions, helping drive consistent execution, practical remediation, and continuous improvement in a complex, international environment. The role offers real ownership, exposure, and the opportunity to meaningfully influence how compliance is embedded into the business.

SOX Program Leadership & Execution

  • Own, execute and review SOX 404 controls testing across global business and IT processes, focusing particularly in the areas of IT General Controls (ITGCs) such as user access controls, change management controls, IT implementation controls, evaluate 3rd party SOC reporting; IT Automated Controls (ITACs) and testing reports for completeness and accuracy
  • Support annual scoping and risk assessment activities to define testing plans across regions and business lines.
  • Evaluate control design and operating effectiveness through walkthroughs, testing, and evidence review. Lead in performing rollforward and remediation testing.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Education

  • Partner with process owners, IT teams, and control stakeholders to maintain high‑quality process documentation, including flowcharts and narratives.
  • Act as a trusted SOX subject matter expert, providing guidance, training, and practical advice to control owners.
  • Translate SOX requirements into clear, actionable expectations for non‑audit stakeholders.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors during annual SOX audits, supporting walkthroughs, testing, and issue resolution.

Remediation & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify control gaps and deficiencies, and work collaboratively with the business to design and track effective remediation plans.
  • Promote a continuous‑improvement mindset by identifying opportunities to simplify, standardize, or strengthen controls.
  • Ensure documentation is audit‑ready and supports efficient internal and external reviews.

What We’re Looking For – Your Background

  • 4+ years of experience in SOX compliance, IT audit, or internal controls within a public company or Big 4 / consulting environment. Experience assessing system architecture, software development life cycle (SDLC), IT operations and Information Security, and / or Technical Project Management.
  • Strong knowledge of SOX 404 requirements, control frameworks (e.g., COSO), and ITGC testing methodologies.
  • Experience mapping and analyzing business processes and documenting key / non-key controls.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently engage with cross-functional teams and leadership.
  • Experience in a supervisory / senior role, with hands on involvement in team coaching, providing feedback and reviewing staff workpapers.
  • Detail‑oriented, proactive, and intellectually curious — comfortable asking questions and challenging assumptions.
  • Self-starter with flexibility , desire, and eagerness to take ownership of tasks and responsibilities in order to keep the project on schedule.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment including multi-level staff and external partners.
  • Experience in auditing Workday and / or JDE applications is an advantage, but not required.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CISA, CIA, CPA) an advantage but not required.
