Xcel Energy supports a hybrid work model to enable collaboration and flexibility. Many roles are expected to work onsite three days per week (Tuesday–Thursday); however, work location expectations vary based on role, team, and business needs.
The Senior IT Solution Analyst, UCC Video Collaboration is responsible for supporting, coordinating, and continuously improving enterprise video conferencing, meeting-room, and collaboration solutions. The role provides advanced technical and operational expertise across the lifecycle of collaboration environments, helping ensure that conference rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms, executive meeting spaces, and large-event collaboration technologies are reliable, secure, standardized, and aligned with business needs.
This role serves as a key liaison among business stakeholders, IT engineering teams, network and security teams, project managers, vendors, and support organizations to translate business collaboration requirements into reliable technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Video Collaboration & Meeting Room Technology
- Support the design, deployment, lifecycle management, and ongoing operation of enterprise video collaboration environments.
- Provide advanced support for Microsoft Teams Rooms, conference rooms, collaboration spaces, audiovisual systems, room scheduling technologies, cameras, microphones, speakers, displays, DSPs, control systems, and related network-connected AV equipment.
- Diagnose complex room and conferencing issues involving AV hardware, software, networking, security, identity, and collaboration platforms.
- Validate audio, video, room-join experience, and room scheduling functionality following changes to conference-room technology, consistent with current EUS change verification practices.
VCE Service Delivery
- Support the Video Collaboration Experience service from intake through implementation and operational handoff.
- Gather business and technical requirements for new or modified collaboration spaces.
- Help evaluate, prioritize, and deliver conference-room and collaboration technology enhancements.
- Coordinate work across internal engineering teams, facilities, vendors, project teams, and business stakeholders.
- Ensure conference rooms and collaboration technologies are implemented consistently and meet defined business requirements.
Executive & High-Visibility Meeting Support
- Provide technical coordination and support for high-profile meetings, leadership events, and complex collaboration scenarios.
- Partner with executive support and Corporate Communications as appropriate for board meetings, QBRs, earnings calls, and other high-visibility events.
- Conduct pre-event validation and coordinate equipment, room readiness, and technical resources.
- Provide technical support for presenters, content sharing, microphones, cameras, audio, and video during critical meetings.
Technical Troubleshooting & Problem Management
- Serve as an escalation resource for complex video collaboration incidents that cannot be resolved through frontline support.
- Troubleshoot issues spanning AV devices, Microsoft Teams Rooms, network connectivity, firewall/security requirements, room peripherals, control systems, and vendor integrations.
- Perform root-cause analysis and identify opportunities to eliminate recurring failures.
- Coordinate cross-functional troubleshooting with Network, Security, Microsoft 365, Facilities, vendors, and other technical teams.
- Document technical findings and translate recurring issues into improvements to standards, configurations, monitoring, or support processes.
Project & Solution Delivery
- Participate in new construction, remodel, technology refresh, lifecycle, and collaboration modernization initiatives.
- Translate stakeholder requirements into technical requirements and implementation plans.
- Coordinate vendors and technical teams during installation, testing, acceptance, and production turnover.
- Identify technical dependencies and risks involving networking, security, infrastructure, facilities, and collaboration platforms.
- Verify completed implementations meet functional and operational requirements before service handoff.
Standards, Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, operational procedures, support documentation, and knowledge articles.
- Identify opportunities to standardize room designs, configurations, support models, and deployment processes.
- Maintain appropriate lifecycle and configuration information for collaboration environments.
- Identify opportunities to automate monitoring, maintenance, software/firmware management, reporting, and repetitive operational activities.
- Share technical knowledge with peers and support teams and help improve Tier 2-to-Tier 3 escalation effectiveness.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Technology, Science, Business or related field, or 4 years of experience equivalent to the position.
- Five years of related functional experience
- Experience with Project or Product delivery practices, including SDLC, Agile, and Waterfall
- Demonstrated ability to recommend innovative solutions to meet business needs
- Ability to drive continuous improvement through lean and agile practices
- Demonstrated in depth knowledge of end-to-end process and system capabilities, as well as industry standards and emerging technologies and methods
- Ability to understand technical, functional, and operational details of respective solutions.
- Strong problem solving, analytical and detail orientation
- Demonstrated ability to build functional and technical subject matter expertise, process and tools expertise, and drive consistency in processes.
- In-depth knowledge or the ability to quickly attain expertise on core IT components within the respective domain.

- Strong Relationship Management and collaboration skills, with a track record of working as one team cross-organizationally to drive innovation and business results
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Teams Rooms, Teams administration, or comparable enterprise meeting platforms.
- Experience with enterprise AV technologies such as Crestron, Q-SYS, DSP-based audio systems, cameras, microphones, room-control systems, and conferencing peripherals.
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, firewalls, certificates, and network requirements associated with AV and collaboration devices.
- Experience with large conference rooms, executive spaces, auditoriums, town halls, or high-visibility events.
- Experience working with AV integrators and managed service providers.
- Microsoft, Q-SYS, Crestron, or other applicable collaboration/AV certifications.
- Experience creating technical standards, SOPs, KBAs, diagrams, and operational documentation.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methods, work-management tools, and continuous-improvement practices.
- Familiarity with automation, telemetry, analytics, and proactive monitoring of collaboration technology.

Non-Bargaining
The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $84,900.00 to $120,567.00 per year
