Senior IT Manager / Technical Manager (Cloud & SaaS)

Location: North Sydney, NSW 2060, Australia (On-site)
Salary: USD $146,736 – $205,430 per annum (approx. AUD $220K – $310K package)
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: ASAP

You will play a key leadership role in architecting and delivering mission-critical systems, working with modern cloud technologies and collaborating with global stakeholders across multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture & Solution Design

• Lead the design and implementation of single-tenant and multi-tenant SaaS architectures on Microsoft Azure
• Deliver high-availability, Multi-AZ (Availability Zone) solutions to ensure uptime and resilience
• Define scalable, secure architecture patterns aligned with enterprise standards

Technical Leadership & Client Engagement

• Act as the primary technical authority for client engagements
• Lead end-to-end solution discussions, architecture presentations, and documentation in English
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across business and technology teams

Engineering Delivery & DevOps

• Oversee development using Java / Spring Boot microservices architecture
• Drive modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and containerisation
• Manage and optimise both production and testing environments

Operations, Stability & Support

• Lead troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis
• Ensure platform reliability, performance optimisation, and continuous improvement

Compliance & Security

• Ensure systems meet Australian regulatory and compliance requirements, particularly in financial services
• Implement robust data residency, security, and business continuity (BCP) frameworks

Key Requirements

Technical Experience

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
• Minimum 5+ years in financial systems or enterprise software delivery
• At least 3 years in a senior technical leadership / architect role
• Strong expertise in:
  • Java / Spring Boot microservices
  • Cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS also considered)
  • DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Docker/Kubernetes

Industry Experience

• Experience delivering SaaS platforms in regulated environments (financial services highly desirable)
• Familiarity with Australian compliance frameworks or international equivalents

Communication & Leadership

• Fluent English (essential) with ability to lead international technical discussions
• Experience working across cross-border or distributed teams
• Mandarin language skills are highly advantageous but not mandatory
