About the role
As Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer within the UNS IT Team, you will be the bridge between strategic projects and the day-to-day operations that keep our global offices running smoothly. You don’t settle for quick fixes—you dig into root causes to design lasting improvements. From overhauling our virtual infrastructure to fine-tuning backups and automations, you will work across teams and time zones to elevate our IT services and enable smarter ways of working.
Responsibilities
1) Daily operations
Implementing and improving our Hyper-V setup. Advising on and designing our Veaam backup system.
Administering Windows Server services—NTFS permissions, DHCP scopes, and Group Policy structures.
Installing, configuring, and maintaining on-site hardware (servers, racks, printers), and coordinating vendor support.
Optimizing print services (e.g. Papercut) to ensure reliable, seamless printing.
Streamlining Service Desk processes through Adaxes-based automations.
Supporting network security by configuring FortiClient endpoints and FortiGate firewalls and Fortiswitches.
2) Projects
Migrating our virtual environment from VMware to Hyper-V, while managing Active Directory domains and Group Policies.
Automating routine workflows and service-desk tasks using PowerShell and Adaxes.
Hardware selection, proposals and vendor coordination on various key elements of our IT infrastructure.
MBO/HBO+ level education in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
15+ years of hands-on IT support or engineering experience, ideally in an international, multi-office organization.
Good understanding of Windows environments, Azure Infrastructure, Office 365, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
Proven scripting skills with PowerShell and familiarity with automation tools like Adaxes.
Experience with backup solutions (Veeam Backup & Replication) and network security appliances (Fortinet).
Strong communicator who can translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Dutch is a plus.
Valid working visa for the Netherlands.
