We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior IT Business Analyst Supervisor for our Business and Enterprise Technology Solutions Team!

Examples of duties

As the IT Business Analyst Supervisor, you will lead a team of 5 customer focused Business Analysts working with internal partners to identify and define technical solution needs. This team provides analysis for diverse set of applications and projects from maintenance and operations of existing applications to implementation of state-wide initiatives within DOL, to identifying and implementing new applications or technical solutions. In addition to leading the team, you will also use your advanced business analysis skills to perform elicitation, validation, and verification of requirements. You will also be working with vendors, developers, and quality assurance staff to translate stakeholder needs into system improvements.

Some of what you will do:

• Build the business analyst team including development of processes and approaches, while balancing differences between customer and system needs.
• Plan, assign and monitor workload of staff to include setting and tracking due dates, deliverables, and commitments to customers in Azure DevOps.
• Monitor quality, performance and productivity of staff and provide training, expertise, and assistance.
• Participate in Business and Enterprise Technology Solutions Team leadership group to coordinate activities within the team.
• Collaborate with leadership, product owners, and experts in other teams and vendors to prioritize, plan, develop and coordinate solutions.
• Independently review existing or emerging technologies as possible solutions to address highly complex business challenges and evolving business needs.
• Create functional specifications for the technology team.

Qualifications

What you will bring:

• Eleven (11) years of combined professional experience and relevant education in one (1) or more of the following IT disciplines: consulting, analyzing, designing, programming, architecting or maintaining computer software applications.

OR

• Five (5) years of information technology experience, including three (3) years of performing at least one (1) of the following business analysis (lifecycle) functions:
• Business process analysis.Requirements elicitation, tracking and documentation.Performing usability, development of use cases, user stories, user acceptance criteria, design documents and training materials.Critical analysis of complex systems and business processes, functions, inputs and outputs, environments and visually documenting those processes. Evaluate and assess current/future state to identify functional impacts and mitigate those risks.Performing user acceptance testing.Implementation and post implementation activities.Act as a liaison between business and technical staff through the entire development lifecycle.
• Proven experience implementing, designing, or testing business applications, systems, and COTS solutions.
• The ability to:

Experience may be obtained concurrently.

Up to five (5) years of relevant education (Computer Science or closely related field) may substitute year for year for experience.

Associates degree = 2 years | Bachelor’s degree = 4 years | Master's degree = 5 years

What may set you apart:

• Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) or Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP).
• Bachelor or Master Degree of any subject with a preference toward information technology focuses.

Additional Requirements of Employment:

• Prior to a new hire, a pre-employment screening, including criminal record history, will be conducted. Information from the pre-employment check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant’s suitability and competence to perform in the position.
• This position, while hybrid, will require you to work in person at our Olympia area offices multiple times a month or as business needs arise.
