Business Area Europe is responsible for developing and owning Statkraft’s renewable energy portfolio outside the Nordics, with a primary focus on wind, solar and battery storage. The business area also leads the execution of major projects, group procurement and the development of new business opportunities.

The Investment and Execution unit comprises 20 colleagues across Europe. We provide commercial and investment support throughout business, project and portfolio development, and lead selected acquisition, sell-down and partnership processes. The team also develops valuation assumptions for sell-down cases and builds relationships with institutional investors and strategic partners.

Job Description

• Lead the commercial evaluation and development of wind, solar and battery projects and portfolios across Statkraft’s priority European markets, initially focusing on the UK and Ireland.
• Lead or support acquisitions, sell-downs, partnerships and other strategic transactions from initial assessment through negotiation and execution.
• Build, review and quality-assure financial models, valuations and investment cases, and translate the analysis into clear recommendations for decision-makers.
• Develop commercial strategies and secure routes to market, including government auctions, corporate PPAs and other offtake structures.
• Structure, negotiate and manage joint ventures and strategic partnerships.
• Strengthen Statkraft’s commercial proposition to partners and investors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with financial investors, industry partners and advisers.

Qualifications

• A relevant university degree and substantial experience in investment, M&A, strategy, project finance or a comparable commercial role.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy project economics, valuation and the key value drivers for wind, solar and battery storage investments.
• Proven experience leading complex projects and transactions involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills, with the ability to identify key risks and communicate decision-relevant insights clearly.
• Strong commercial judgement and negotiation skills, combined with a collaborative and pragmatic working style.
• Experience with PPAs, routes to market, joint ventures or financial investors is an advantage.
• High integrity, sound judgement and the ability to manage several priorities in a fast-paced international environment.
• Excellent written and spoken English; proficiency in another major European language is an advantage.
