Job Description

To support the ambition to establish a multi-gigawatt Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) position in the near term through inorganic growth, the BESS team is seeking to add an Investment Associate

In this role you support the assessment, structuring, and execution of M&A transactions across BESS platforms in Europe. The Investment Associate contributes analytical rigor, valuation discipline, and structured execution throughout the transaction lifecycle. Additionally you support the preparation of decision-ready investment materials, coordination of due diligence activities, and disciplined transaction execution in line with internal governance and return requirements.

The position reports to the Head of Inorganic Growth BESS and works closely with stakeholders across the BESS team and the wider organisation.

Your main responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of investment cases on inorganic BESS growth (acquisitions, investments in platforms)
  • and support valuation model and support transaction structuring, negotiations, and execution activities
  • Prepare risk assessments, and internal approval documentation. prepare material for senior management and investment committees
  • Coordinate and support related due diligence activities with internal and external stakeholders
  • Consolidate respective inputs from internal teams and external advisors into structured recommendations

Your Profile

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in M&A transactions within the renewable energy and/or Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) sector
  • Experience in investment analysis with strong financial modelling and valuation skills
  • Experience supporting M&A transaction processes and due diligence workflows
  • Structured, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple workstreams in parallel
  • Clear and concise communicator, comfortable working with cross-functional stakeholders
  • High energy, strong ownership mentality, and a pragmatic sense of humor in a demanding deal environment
