As a member of the Public Markets team, completeinvestment analysis activitiesforpublicequity,liquid / semi-liquid diversifyingstrategies, and fixedincome forAdvocate Health, Inc. and its subsidiaries. Monitor global economic and market conditions to recognize opportunities for new investments. Perform rigorous qualitative and quantitative due diligence tovalidatethe attractiveness of investment opportunities and recommend actions to the investment teamMonitor and continually evaluate investments after the investment decision is implemented with ongoing due diligence activities toinclude:preparing and analyzing investment reports,monitoringand evaluating investment manager performance, andutilizingrisk management toolsPosition is expected to collaborate with other investment team membersregardingqualitative and quantitative investment analysis and reporting.
Major Responsibilities:
Investment Analytics: Perform investment analysis (both qualitative and quantitative) of both individual investment managersandappropriate assetclasses. Gather, extract, and aggregate data from Dynamo,Onbase, investment manager inquires, andother sources. Evaluate investment manager performance and summarize relevant developments to thedeal team,VPsand SVP-Chief Investment OfficerUtilize andmaintainreports detailing the exposures and key developments within the portfolio.
Investment Manager Evaluation: Continuallymonitorand evaluate investment manager performancerelativeto establishedbenchmarks and asset class. Review industry reports and performance commentary to the extent it mayimpactexistingmanagers. Collect necessary data for risk aggregation. Periodically provide narrative toasset classleads, VPs and SVP-Chief Investment Officerregardingmaterialdevelopments to contribute to portfolio level performance and risk analysis efforts.
Risk Management:Utilizerisk management tools and reports detailing the exposure of investmentmanagers to various metrics of interest, including sectors, regions, market capitalizations, factors, etc. Research any metricsthat fall outside of established expectations and recommendappropriate actionto manage these risks.
Due Diligence and Market Research:Monitorglobal market conditions and the investment activities of investment managers.Activelyparticipatein meetings with existing andprospective investment managers and summarize information or proposedaction items gleaned from those meetings.
Due Diligence: Activelyparticipatein periodic meetings and calls with both existing and prospective investment managers togain an understanding of the manager's philosophy, process, and portfolio. Thoroughly review offering materials provided byprospective investment managers and summarize key terms, strengths, and prospective issues todealteamsand VPs Compiledue diligence data requests lists and seekappropriate informationto address diligence matters. Conduct competitive / peeranalysis and reviewtrack recordvs relevant benchmark data for prospective managers.
On-Going Monitoring: Read all communications from investment managers and summarize key issues and/or changes toasset class leadsand VPs
Market Research: Perform market research for the purpose of industry education, trendidentification, and documentation ofbest practices. Attend relevant local industry events and read pertinent white papers, summarizing findings for members of theinvestment team.
Documentation: Work withdeal team,asset class leads,and VPsto ensure proper documentation ofinvestment diligence, approval, and sizing decisions. Review andmaintainrelevant internal databases to ensureaccurateinvestment manager and service provider contact information as well as fees and other key contractual terms. Reviewmanager communications and conduct periodic manager data requests asappropriate
Manager Reporting: Collaborate with Investment Operations team to review accuracy and completeness of managerperformance and other reporting data. Ensure accessibility of documents for use by Operations and/orAccountingteams.Utilizeappropriate technologytooptimizeexternal and internal data request processes.
Investment Operations Support: Collaborate and coordinate with members of the investment team across a variety ofworkflows, specifically investment operations. Investment operations support may include maintenance of internal databases,preparation of direction letters and legal documents, aggregation of portfolio level data, tradeplanningand cash forecasting.
Education Requirements:
•Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
•This is a pre-MBA or othermaster’sdegree position.
Experience Requirements:
•Typically requires~2+ years ofrelated experience in investments, capitalmarketor finance for investmentanalystand~5+yearsof related experiencefor senior investmentanalyst
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
•Excellent spreadsheet skills(pivot tables, datatables for sensitivities,etc)
•Strong analytical skills

•Experience with Bloomberg(or interest in learning)
