Job Description

Bryn Mawr Trust, a WSFS Company, provides locally managed and collaborative wealth management solutions, including a broad array of planning and advisory services, investment management, trust and estate planning, brokerage and investment services to individual, corporate, and institutional clients through multiple integrated businesses.

Leading with advice and planning, the Senior Investment Advisor is responsible for maintaining ongoing relationships and managing the delivery of investment management services to the clients.  The incumbent will be responsible for working with individuals and institutions to formulate investment plans which are then documented on the Investment Policy Statement (IPS). The Senior Investment Advisor will utilize a broad-based knowledge of complex investments and portfolio management concepts, experience, and bank resources to deliver investment outcomes to meet or exceed client goals and objectives. This position requires internal communications, including participation in select internal committee meetings; knowledge, understanding and application of fiduciary and investment principles, including compliance requirements; knowledge of securities processing and clearing; knowledge of trust & accounting systems; knowledge of investment systems to support trading and performance analysis and technology to support recordkeeping and payment history; and interface with Trust Operations Service Partners.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide Investment management for an account base consisting of large and complex relationships, including more sensitive client relationships.
  • Manage client portfolios in keeping with goals established for the account, IPS, and all Bryn Mawr Trust standards and policies.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with clients and their advisors in order to develop a complete understanding of clients’ needs.
  • Proactively communicate with clients to regularly review goals, and deliver financial planning to reaffirm the appropriateness of current investment plan as detailed on IPS.
  • Complete Annual reviews and works to align portfolios in keeping with approved security lists and investment parameters
  • Actively seek to identify new business opportunities from existing client base, prospects and centers of influence.
  • Build and maintain knowledge of investment principles and portfolio management concept.
  • Support Investment Strategy & Solutions team within Wealth Management by providing leadership for departmental projects and committees.
  • Actively contribute the development and enhancement of the investment offering at Bryn Mawr Trust by sharing observations and insights on industry trends, professional development and client experiences.
  • Work with the Wealth Director and Director Investment Advisory Services to mentor and develop less experienced colleagues including Investment Advisors and Investment Associates.
  • May be asked to participate in performance evaluation and hiring decisions.
  • Represent Bryn Mawr Trust at outside/professional organizations, including media opportunities.
  • Support the mission, strategy and values of Bryn Mawr Trust.
  • Additional responsibilities as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, trust management, business administration, finance or a business-related major is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of decision-making experience in an investment management setting, e.g. investment advisory firm, trust department of a bank hedge fund, private investment office.
  • Advanced degree, either CFA, CFP, CTFA, or MBA, preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of investment and portfolio management theory, along with a fundamental knowledge of financial planning principles
  • Knowledge of fiduciary, tax and other regulations impacting the investment management function.
  • Strong investment management skills and commitment to delivering excellent customer outcomes
  • Strong written and verbal skills and ability to handle and deliver difficult client and management messages with tact and firmness.
  • Experience with a trust accounting and/or investment system is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Previous experience working with SWP platforms a plus .
  • Comfortable with solving complex internal and external issues as it relates to the Bank’s clients, processes and procedures.
  • Must be able to juggle priorities, be organized and have an adjustable social style.
  • Must exhibit initiative, and the ability to complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately.

Salary Range:

$133,728.00 - $219,696.75

Individual base pay may vary on additional factors such as the candidate’s experience, job-related skills, relevant education, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs.
