Conduct complex investigations, audits and compliance activities that help uphold workplace laws and support fair outcomes across NSW.

About the Role

Workplace laws protect workers and support responsible businesses. As a Senior Investigator in the Construction Compliance Unit, you’ll help ensure these laws are understood and upheld. You’ll join the Premier’s Department’s Industrial Relations team, where integrity, professionalism and a commitment to fair and informed outcomes underpin everything we do.

You will be part of a field team conducting site inspections and audits across building and construction sites in NSW. This activity relations to the administration and supervision of the NSW Building and Construction Guidelines referred in the link below.

This role offers variety, challenge and purpose. You'll work on sensitive and complex matters, engage with diverse stakeholders and contribute to decisions that have a real impact on workers and businesses.

We're Looking For

• Investigation & Compliance Expertise: Experience conducting investigations, gathering and assessing evidence, and making sound recommendations within legislative or regulatory frameworks
• Critical Thinking & Sound Judgement: Ability to analyse complex information, identify risks, solve problems and make balanced decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships, conduct interviews and communicate complex information clearly and professionally
• Industry Knowledge: Experience in the building and construction industry, compliance, regulation or a related field, with an understanding of industry practices and associated legislative frameworks highly regarded
• Relevant Qualifications: Relevant certificate IV qualification and a current driver's licence
